LEGO Assembles Football Avengers: Messi, Ronaldo, Vinícius, and Mbappé Share Screen Just in Time Before FIFA World Cup 2026

LEGO has a brick for everything these days. Starships from sci-fi epics, cityscapes of ancient wonders, even pint-sized versions of your favorite musicians and superheroes. From everyday heroes to blockbuster icons, no dream escapes their colorful clutches. Now, as hype builds for football's grandest stage, they have partnered with the biggest global event of 2026.

LEGO Group has announced a collaboration with four of football's biggest names: Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Jr. The new line of minifigure sets is timed for the buildup to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The collection builds on prior releases, including a LEGO version of the World Cup trophy and a 1,498-piece display ball with an internal mini-stadium.

Each set incorporates elements from the players' careers, such as national team colors, jersey numbers, and personalized plaques, alongside minifigures depicting signature moments. The lineup includes Football Highlights sets for all four players, featuring letter-shaped bases and collectible figures. Standalone Football Legend models highlight Ronaldo (854 pieces, buildable in Siuuu pose or bicycle kick) and Messi (958 pieces, in victory point or dribbling pose)

Cristiano Ronaldo commented that he is incredibly honored to be part of this new lineup of LEGO Editions, alongside three other incredible players. LEGO's Chief Marketing and Product Officer, Julia Goldin, stated that they are bringing the thrill of football to life and sparking imagination and excitement in kids and families worldwide.

While LEGO brings the stars home in brick form, the actual World Cup is already gearing up with its own blockbuster halftime.

World Cup final goes Super Bowl with epic halftime extravaganza

FIFA has unveiled plans for a massive halftime spectacle at the 2026 World Cup final, mirroring the NFL Super Bowl's tradition of star-powered interruptions that steal the spotlight. Announced at the Washington, D.C. final draw, this marks a bold departure from football's Spartan 15-minute breaks, channeling American showmanship into a global event expected to draw billions.

After a successful trial at the 2025 Club World Cup final—where J Balvin, Doja Cat, and Coldplay ignited the crowd with genre-mashing energy—FIFA is all-in, partnering with Global Citizen and Coldplay's Chris Martin for production. The move promises more than fireworks: it is a revenue goldmine with custom sponsorship zones, artist brand integrations, and bonus streaming slots to combat distracted viewers.

Producers aim for LED wizardry, drones, and cultural nods to co-hosts US, Canada, and Mexico. As 2026 hype swells, it all syncs perfectly with LEGO's Football Avengers drop, where Messi, Ronaldo, Vinícius, and Mbappé assemble as brick-built icons ahead of the FIFA World Cup showdown.
