Kudrow, speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, looked back on the chaotic filming of the Friends opening credits, where tensions ran high after a long shoot. The cast ended up at a separate ranch location for the fountain sequence set; more accurately, they ended up at Warner Bros. Ranch in Burbank, California. However, the chaotic filming became calmer through Perry's presence.

"We are laughing because Matthew was like, What are we, what? What are we in a fountain? Dancing?" Lisa Kudrow recalled, highlighting how Matthew Perry’s humor cut through the tension. Even Jimmy Kimmel could not help agreeing with her.

They were told it would be quick, but the shoot dragged into the night until early morning. Exhaustion quickly set in as the cast was asked to enter the fountain for the now-iconic opening. What was meant to be lighthearted turned into frustration, with everyone cold, tired, and struggling to stay upbeat.

"But we're supposed to be laughing, and everyone's too cold and angry." Lisa Kudrow recalled how the mood shifted as freezing water and repeated takes wore everyone down. The cast attempted to power through the choreography, but fatigue made the process increasingly difficult.
