The FIFA World Cup 2026 Final will feature its first-ever halftime show on July 19, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Madonna, Shakira, and BTS are confirmed as co-headliners. Coldplay's Chris Martin curated the show, produced by Global Citizen, with the goal of raising approximately 100 million dollars for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The show is designed to fund access to quality education and football for children worldwide. Martin collaborated with manager Phil Harvey on the curation. The announcement arrived on May 14, 2026, via a wildly entertaining video featuring Sesame Street characters, with Elmo and Cookie Monster helping Martin recruit the stars in the most wholesome chaos imaginable.

In the video, Elmo suggests Madonna and BTS, and Martin video-calls the K-pop group, who confirm their participation. Shakira appears later, cookies in tow, while Muppets, including Animal, Statler, and Waldorf, add comedic mayhem, and the clip goes viral almost instantly.
