Saturday Night Live is gearing up for a New England takeover, and the promos alone are already breaking the internet. Matt Damon is returning to Studio 8H alongside Vermont's biggest folk-pop export, Noah Kahan, and Saturday Night Live cast member Ben Marshall is the third wheel, making things delightfully awkward. Season 51 is clearly saving its best for nearly last.

Matthew Paige Damon is hosting Saturday Night Live on May 9, 2026, paired with musical guest Noah Kahan. It marks Damon's third hosting appearance across 25 years on the show. The episode airs as Season 51's penultimate entry, landing on Mother's Day weekend.

"More like Skit Season," Damon quipped in the promo, riffing on Kahan's hit 'Stick Season.'

Kahan then added, "Noah kah-ha-ha-han," emphasizing that the duo is clearly already in full comedic lockstep.

Damon previously hosted in October 2002, promoting The Bourne Identity alongside Bruce Springsteen, then returned in December 2018 for a Christmas episode featuring Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus, earning an Emmy nomination for that run. Twenty-five years across three hosting stints means Damon needs roughly 26 more years at this pace to crack the legendary Five-Timers Club.

While Damon is busy dodging the Five-Timers Club math, his upcoming projects suggest the wait between gigs is getting considerably shorter.

Matthew Damon leads Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, releasing in theaters and IMAX on July 17, 2026. The film adapts Homer's epic poem, following Odysseus's treacherous journey homeward. Nolan shot the entire project on 70mm IMAX film, assembling an extraordinary ensemble including Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, and Robert Pattinson, making it arguably the most ambitious production of Nolan's career.

Beyond The Odyssey, Damon is linked to Ocean's 14, potentially reprising Linus Caldwell alongside George Clooney and Brad Pitt, with filming possibly beginning later in 2026. A biopic role as commodities trader Marc Rich in The King of Oil remains in early development. From Studio 8H to an IMAX Greek epic, Damon is clearly done pacing himself.
