Meghan Markle has moved from Suits to the palace to As Ever, which is a very tidy résumé for a woman the public keeps trying to refile. She has also acquired a talent for turning every chapter into a brand, whether a lifestyle blog or a streaming venture. Talking about As Ever, her past and present have collided as a controversy has taken things way out of context, with Patrick J. Adams helming the middle.
The brief stir around Meghan Markle and Patrick J. Adams began with a light podcast remark that was quickly overstated. During an appearance with Amanda Hirsch on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Adams noted he had not received a jam from Markle’s As Ever line. And when he found out that Hirsch received one, he joked that he was 'snubbed', a statement which was later taken out of context.
"I did not get the jam," said Patrick J. Adams as he revealed how left out he felt due to Hirsch's revelation. She said she had received a jar with a handwritten note. Adams went on to joke that maybe Meghan Markle thought he did not have enough followers to get a jam.
After the clip was posted on Instagram, Meghan Markle reacted to the 'jam snub'. The Duchess of Sussex told him that his jam is on the way. Along with that, she made sure to ask about his little ones and his mother. Stealing hearts and ending controversies with a very rare Instagram comment.
Meghan Markle quietly wrapped the jam chatter on a sweet note, making sure Patrick J. Adams was part of the jam-recieving circle
The people who are on the jam radar of Meghan Markle
Meghan Markle distributed her American Riviera Orchard jams with the precision of a guest list that does not forgive omissions. Doria Ragland received the first jar, which is what mothers are for, while Kelly McKee Zajfen, Abigail Spencer, and Heather Dorak confirmed that loyalty has its rewards. The numbering system only made the hierarchy more legible.
Expansion came with strategy rather than sentiment. Delfina Blaquier and Nacho Figueras connected the jars to polo fields, while Kris Jenner and Tracy Robbins ensured they did not go unnoticed in more commercial circles. It was less a picnic basket and more a carefully staged announcement.
Then came the performers who understand an audience. Garcelle Beauvais, Mindy Kaling, Chrissy Teigen, and Tracee Ellis Ross displayed their jars with the appropriate degree of enthusiasm and restraint. In such a company, Patrick J. Adams was never excluded so much as briefly misplaced, though the narrative insisted on calling it a controversy.
