On May 19, 2026, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry commemorated eight years of marriage by releasing a number of never-before-seen photos from their wedding at Windsor Castle. In 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex exchanged vows at St George's Chapel. Eight years after that joyous moment in their life, they are now celebrating the day in their Montecito home with their two kids - Princess Lilibet, who is currently four years old, and Prince Archie, who is now seven.
On Tuesday, the Duchess of Sussex posted carousels of photos from their first dance on Instagram, showing them spinning on the dance floor and lovingly embracing one another. A shot even captured them kissing as their wedding guests joined them on the dance floor.
Intimate moments from the ceremony itself, such as an emotional exchange between the newlyweds just after their vows, were featured in a separate selection that the Duchess of Sussex tweeted. Among the shared photos was a behind-the-scenes photo of the couple during their formal portrait session, as well.
Although new photos were included in the social media posts, several of them had already been featured in the couple's 2022 six-part Netflix documentary, titled Harry & Meghan. The new photos were released just after the Duchess of Sussex returned from a trip to Geneva, closing a fruitful visit for the royal couple.
The life for the Sussexes post their wedding has been quite a rollercoaster ride with bittersweet moments constantly hitting the royal couple’s path.
A look at the royal couple's life after marriage
Just a year after their marriage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle welcomed their first child, Prince Archie, on May 6, 2019. Then the royal couple resigned from their royal duties in January 2020 and went to start a new life, subbing out Europe for Southern California. The actress gave birth to her daughter, Princess Lilibet, the following June, and has since shared glimpses of their lives together in Montecito, California.
Meghan Markle posted pictures of her family's trip to Disneyland with her children and mother, Doria Ragland, on Instagram earlier this month. For Prince Archie's seventh birthday, Markle also posted sweet, never-before-seen pictures, a tradition she has kept alive even after eight years of marriage to Prince Harry.
