The royal narrative of love is often grand gestures and gilded elements, set against centuries of protocol-led traditions. However, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have always been ones to take the road not taken. Coincidentally, a lot of times, the road they take ends at Beverly Hills' Funke.
On February 13th, 2026, the couple was spotted by PEOPLE at Funke restaurant in Beverly Hills. The upscale restaurant is their go-to spot for dinner dates, a place they chose to celebrate love, relaxed and at ease.
They chose casual fits over glamor; Meghan Markle wore a brown jacket and black pants, while Prince Harry paired a black jacket with jeans. The couple was last spotted at the restaurant in August 2025 to celebrate Meghan Markle’s 44th birthday.
The food spot is no doubt a favorite of Prince Harry and especially Meghan Markle, who even gave it a shoutout on her birthday. This reflects the couple's love for familiar and similar places to celebrate their most private moments of love.
Last year, the couple spent Valentine's Day apart as Prince Harry was in Canada for the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler, where he kicked off the event with Markle before she headed home to care for their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Apart from their dinner outing, there was another cherry atop the cake on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Valentine's Day. The Duchess took her annual shout-out to Prince Harry on Valentine's Day on another level with a Princess Lilibet-sized surprise.
The post of love by Meghan Markle
On Valentine's Day, Meghan Markle took to Instagram to celebrate her love with Prince Harry. In the post, she has captured the love-filled moment of the Duke and daughter, Princess Lilibet, holding red heart balloons.
The caption said, "These two+Archie=my forever Valentine".
Markle takes every chance to showcase her love for Prince Harry. Be it wishing him for Valentine's Day, Father's Day and especially his birthday, the Duchess ensures that it is marked with a special social media post.
With the two still gushing over each other, their love story has been one of a kind. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met through a mutual friend, as Prince Harry puts it in the six-episode docuseries on Netflix, titled Harry & Meghan.
“Someone who was a friend had this video of the two of them, like a Snapchat,” he explained how in the docuseries.
Markle had the dog filter on, and Prince Harry was curious to know who it was. The mutual friend then told Markle that Prince Harry was asking about her and wanted to meet. Markle looked up his feed, they met, soon exchanged numbers, and also started dating. They were in a long-distance relationship until Markle relocated for Prince Harry.
Prince Harry proposed to Markle with two diamond rings from his late mother Princess Diana’s collection. The couple later got married in 2018 in a classic royal wedding.
In around 2020, the couple announced that they were stepping down from their royal duties and would lead a private, simple life away from glamor, guild, and extravagance. Now they live their lives in simplicity and sometimes at Funke.
