A royal reputation is a tender thing to upkeep, and Meghan Markle does not play while on duty. However, despite breaking ties for said reputation, she perhaps maintains a soft spot, away from the public eye.

Jessica Mulroney and Meghan Markle's friendship had formed during Markle's Suits era, where Mulroney would style the ex-actress. Their bond had transcended from Rachel Zane's to Markle's own wedding to Prince Harry, where Mulroney's twin sons were even found playing page boys.

Despite the years, Mulroney's exposure of controversial behaviour in the fashion industry easily led to the duo breaking up. 6 years later, Ben Mulroney, the stylist's former husband and TV show host, has hinted that things between the two may have cooled off.

"It's Jess's story to tell, I won't speak for her, from what I understand, they are on positive terms," he said on the Can't Be Censored podcast.

His response to the strained friendship came from being asked on the podcast whether his sons remember being part of the (second) most televised wedding in history.

Whatever it may seem now, Jessica Mulroney's behaviour has sparked a decisive fallout on Markle's part.

How did Jessica Mulroney do Meghan Markle wrong?

The friendship began to show cracks as Meghan Markle transitioned into royal life and her public responsibilities changed. It was when Canadian influencer Sasha Exeter accused Mulroney of misusing her privilege during the Black Lives Matter movement that the bond soured in 2020.

While Mulroney faced losses of regular TV spots to Morning Show gigs, Markle decided to distance herself from Mulroney, as well. Markle's concern, however, also stemmed from suspicions about her status being taken advantage of, as per several outlets.

Meghan Markle and Jessica Mulroney seem to have decided to look past their differences. However, Markle might remain conscious of the image she upholds, much too to be seen publicly mingling with Mulroney.
