Meghan Markle’s growing business push is drawing renewed attention after Page Six reported that finances in the Sussex household are currently “tight,” with one source telling the outlet the Duchess has become “basically the breadwinner” while she and Prince Harry manage mounting expenses. According to Page Six, the couple reportedly spends at least $6 million annually in operating costs, including an estimated $3 million on private security while maintaining their Montecito home.

Amid those claims, Markle has noticeably expanded her business efforts in recent months. In addition to continuing work on her lifestyle brand As Ever, the Duchess recently joined AI-powered fashion platform OneOff as both an investor and featured participant, allowing followers to browse and shop curated looks while she reportedly earns a percentage of sales.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry has largely remained focused on philanthropy and charitable work, including the Invictus Games and his ongoing role at mental health startup BetterUp. Page Six also reported that Prince Harry was not paid for a recent speaking appearance during the couple’s Australia trip.

But Meghan Markle’s recent business expansion did not begin with the latest financial reports.

Meghan Markle has quietly expanded her business ventures in recent months

Beyond As Ever, Meghan Markle has steadily broadened her commercial footprint. Last month, she joined fashion discovery platform OneOff, becoming one of several high-profile investors and featured personalities whose curated fashion edits are available to shop. According to reports cited by Page Six, the Duchess’ featured looks generated major engagement, with more than a million outfit views in the days following her launch on the platform.

Markle has also continued building As Ever following reports that her partnership with Netflix ended in April after With Love, Meghan was reportedly not renewed for a third season. While speculation circulated that the former Suits actress could return to acting full-time, Sussex insiders reportedly denied claims she was seeking a permanent television role, despite a cameo appearance in the upcoming film Close Personal Friends.

During the Sussexes’ recent Australia visit, Markle also participated in a paid appearance tied to the Her Best Life podcast retreat in Sydney, while balancing charity appearances and commercial meetings during the trip. At the same time, Prince Harry continued focusing on public speaking engagements and philanthropic commitments.

Whether the latest reports accurately reflect the Sussexes’ financial situation remains unclear, and representatives for the couple have not publicly confirmed the claims reported by Page Six. For now, however, Markle’s expanding business portfolio appears to be drawing just as much attention as the speculation surrounding it.
