Jordan was recently asked about the buzz surrounding the upcoming Miami Vice reboot. Despite trying to keep things under wraps, he did not completely reject the idea of appearing in the film.

“I mean, who doesn’t want to be in Miami?” Michael B. Jordan quipped to Variety.

Calling it “a great project,” the actor kept his reaction brief but upbeat as speculation continues to swirl around the film’s casting and production plans. Jordan’s enthusiasm comes as the reboot gains momentum ahead of its planned production start in June 2026.

The film is set to be directed by Joseph Kosinski and will reportedly star Jordan as Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs opposite Austin Butler as James “Sonny” Crockett. Set in 1985 Miami and planned to be shot for IMAX, the film aims to recreate the neon-soaked style and criminal underworld that defined the original series’ early years.
