Millie Bobby Brown has spent years growing up in front of the world, but one dream quietly stayed with her long before fame ever arrived. The actress recently revealed why adoption was always part of her future, sharing that the decision traces all the way back to her earliest childhood memories. The heartfelt confession has unveiled a deeply personal side of the Stranger Things star that many fans never knew.

Speaking on On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, Millie Bobby Brown spoke about knowing her orientation towards adoption early on. While she expressed not having an overtly profound answer when asked what her journey was like, the actress revealed bits and pieces from her childhood and her meeting with Jake Bongiovi that might have created the trail.

“I had a lot of adopted friends growing up; for me, adoption was kind of the first thing I wanted to do," she said. "I would say Jake was kind of in from the jump, that's maybe why I married him," she added, gushing about how aligned they had been from the get-go, even about adoption.

Further on the On Purpose podcast, Brown described getting the call as the most surreal moment of it all. She earlier shared the emotional moment she met her daughter, explaining what another adoptive mother had told her.

“There are two ways to have a baby, one through your stomach and one through your heart,” she recalled before adding that her daughter came through her heart.

While Millie Bobby Brown continues embracing one of the most meaningful chapters of her personal life, her professional journey is showing no signs of slowing down either.

Millie Bobby Brown’s Netflix era is far from over

Following the conclusion of Stranger Things, Millie Bobby Brown has doubled down on her long-running partnership with Netflix. She recently returned as the young detective in Enola Holmes 3, while also reuniting with former Stranger Things co-star David Harbour in an untitled A24 and Netflix spy series, where the pair play an estranged father-daughter FBI duo. The projects further cement Brown as one of the streaming giant’s biggest leading stars beyond Hawkins.

Her upcoming slate remains equally packed. With the Kerri Strug biopic out of the way, the actress is involved in developing Just Picture It, Nineteen Steps - based on her own debut novel. The supernatural drama Prism, and A Time Lost, an original project created alongside her sister Paige Brown, are in the works as well. Together, the lineup marks one of the busiest post-Stranger Things transitions of any Netflix star, proving Brown’s career is entering an entirely new chapter alongside her growing family.

While fans have watched her grow from Hawkins’ fearless Eleven into one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, her latest revelation proves that some of her life’s biggest dreams were already written long before the spotlight arrived.
