Stranger Things is lauded for nailing how terror and terrorizing look on screen. Nell Fisher played a major part in putting these visuals together in season 5, but not without the harrows that come with it.

Nell Fisher, 14, has become the center of gravity for Stranger Things' fifth season. Filming the sequences for it has given her several experiences to remember, some that made her breath run faster, as well.

"I would go off to do school, and I would still find that I’d be hyperventilating," she shared with Bustle. She explained how filming horror-heavy scenes left her under its effects for hours after.

"Your body doesn’t really know the difference," she told Bustle. Despite the differences between on and off-screen, Fisher explained that being deep into the scenes' intensity affects the actors as well.

Fisher's dissection of filming these scenes comes not only because of Stranger Things, but from beyond it as well.

Nell Fisher—the fourteen-year-old horror veteran

Evil Dead Rise could play as Nell Fisher's resume for Stranger Things. Fisher had made her film debut with this horror installation, joining the cast in 2021, when she was about 8 years old.

She was cast as Kassie, who goes on to lose both her parents. The plot of the movie is influenced by the book Naturom Demonto, as usual. With it, Fisher is bound to have faced scenes far more taxing than those of Stranger Things.

Nell Fisher has tread a path well into horror with Evil Dead Rise and Stranger Things as of 2025. The effects, however, seem to have continued being part of her filming routine.
