For months, the internet has treated Netflix and Meghan Markle with Prince Harry like a prestige drama gone delightfully off script. Speculation surged after the platform exited Markle’s As Ever venture and reports surfaced of unsold stock quietly circulating among staff, alongside murmurs of underperforming projects. Yet, a politely conditional truce now threatens to spoil the gossip.

According to Daily Express, a Netflix offer including a potential reconciliation documentary with Thomas Markle and a tribute series centered on Princess Diana has been proposed. Executives believe these concepts could reset public perception about the Sussexes and offer them a Hollywood landline.

"They can strike gold again, just as they did for the first couple of years after they arrived," the Daily Express insider said, referencing the Sussexes’ earlier streaming success with Harry & Meghan, as both benchmark and burden. As per the insider, the couple will need an 'attitude adjustment' before they get on the deal.

The proposed reunion with Thomas Markle carries the sort of emotional spectacle audiences rarely resist. Illness, distance, and carefully timed letters create a narrative too polished to ignore. Netflix is under the impression that if Markle turns into a family peacemaker, she could earn the hearts of many.

Prince Harry, too, is being steered toward familiar territory with a tribute to Princess Diana on her 30th death anniversary next year. While many outlets will cover the anniversary, Netflix is betting that a tribute from her son, once the grieving boy trailing behind his mother's coffin, will resonate far deeper.

As the public waits to see whether the Sussexes accept the offer, their ongoing Netflix projects remain the only sure thing.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's current Netflix projects

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to build a selective slate with Netflix through Archewell Productions. Their partnership now operates under a first-look arrangement, giving the platform priority access to proposed concepts. The shift reflects a more curated creative strategy.

One of the most distinctive projects is an untitled polo drama series rooted in Prince Harry’s long association with the sport. Set in Wellington, Florida, the narrative explores rivalry, privilege, and family tensions within elite polo circles. The series aims to blend character-driven storytelling with a high-gloss sporting backdrop.

Archewell Productions is also advancing two literary adaptations with strong commercial potential. Carley Fortune's Meet Me at the Lake adaptation will examine adult relationships shaped by past trauma. In addition, an adaptation of  Jasmine Guillory's The Wedding Date offers a lighter romantic premise with established audience appeal. Together, these projects signal tonal range.

Their progress may ultimately intersect with the platform’s newly proposed, more strategic offer.
