Even when the story is as haunting as it is real, Netflix's latest true crime seems just as magnetic. As audiences gravitate toward grim, real-world horrors, an unsettling deep dive has become the week’s most talked-about watch.

Streaming data aggregator Flix Patrol has placedThe Investigation of Lucy Letby at No.1 on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies chart, as of February 9, 2026. Moreover, the documentary has remained planted there for nearly a week, or 5 days to be precise.

The documentary is closely followed by the films Overboard, Homefront, and Night at the Museum in the following positions. The longer the documentary holds the summit, the clearer its breakout status will become among the streamer's early-2026 releases.

Unlike fictional crime thrillers, of course, The Investigation of Lucy Letby leans into the stark weight of documented events. It examines the case of Lucy Letby, a former neonatal nurse convicted of taking the lives of infants.

While Netflix's own original has overtaken part of the chart, its TV shows are following suit.

Top Netflix TV shows of the week

As of February 9, 2026, The Lincoln Lawyer, an original from the streamer, has reigned over the Netflix Top 10 TV shows for a total of 33 days. It is followed by Bridgerton, whose second part of its season 4 will release on February 26, 2026. Unfamiliar, Is it Cake? Valentines and HIS & HERS are all Netflix originals, which follow the first two.

On the other hand, the long-reigning K-Pop Demon Hunters has faced a noticeable push down on the Netflix Movie chart. It now holds the 10th position overall and is No. 2 on the Top 10 Kids Movie rankings, as per Flix Patrol.

Keeping its pace, Netflix seems to be preparing and making space to go through with the rest of its release schedule. As the films and shows from 2025 finally fall away, 2026, and its true crime indulgences are settling not only in reality, but also on the Netflix charts.
