Netflix's new docu-film dives into the verdict of Michael Jackson's big legal battle. It is either seen as revisiting a cultural saga or criticized for how it tackles and wraps up the story. Now, the split response has rapidly turned the documentary into a trending topic on social media.

The Michael Jackson: The Verdict is making headlines after revisiting the late singer’s controversial 2005 trial. The three-part documentary includes interviews with jurors, lawyers, journalists, and people connected to the case, providing a fresh look. The series is not centered on Jackson’s music career but rather on the allegations, the court case, media coverage, and ultimately the verdict that found him not guilty on all counts.

The documentary also revisits the major events that led to the trial, including the fallout from the 2003 documentary Living With Michael Jackson and the accusations made by Gavin Arvizo and his family. The series uses archive footage and eyewitness testimony to reconstruct what happened inside and outside the courtroom.

Now it has sparked a fierce discussion among Michael Jackson fans online. Some viewers criticized Netflix for revisiting the allegations and defended Jackson, while some chose to see the movie. The debate has spilled over onto social media.

As the documentary gained attention online, many fans rushed to Jackson's defense and challenged its portrayal of the late singer.

Michael Jackson's documentary sparked a mixed reaction from fans

Many fans had a lot of negative reactions to the documentary, with some saying that they had no interest in watching it. Some went further, suggesting that Netflix should not have revisited the case. The reactions were a reflection of a larger sentiment among a segment of Jackson’s fan base.

“I definitely won't be watching it,” one Instagram user said.

“Netflix subscription canceled. No MJ disrespect will be tolerated,” another declared.

“I don't know why you even bothered watching it, to be honest,” said another one.

On the other hand, some viewers felt the documentary raised important questions about Jackson’s behavior. Rather than outright dismissing the series, these people said they were interested in hearing different perspectives. Their reactions suggested an openness to the documentary.

“I might actually watch it to see the interesting POVs,” a fan commented.

"They can't stop me to love MJ and his music and I'm a fan since 31 years. He was innocent and did nothing wrong!," a supporter declared, meanwhile.

Ultimately, Michael Jackson: The Verdict has rekindled one of entertainment's most divisive debates. Some viewers see the documentary as an opportunity to revisit the major legal case, while others feel it reopens old wounds surrounding the late pop star unnecessarily. These reactions from both sides demonstrate that disputes over Michael Jackson’s legacy are as heated and divided as ever.
