Neve Campbell experienced the peculiar thrill of being both enchanted and confounded by a royal, a curious collision of stardom and fairy tale. Ever the enduring star, Campbell has balanced raw emotion and steely presence, most famously as Sidney Prescott in Scream. For a fleeting moment, it appears Prince Harry captured the OG final girl's attention entirely, for a surprising reason.
Neve Campbell shared a peculiar encounter with Prince Harry during a recent interview, which Hello Magazine reported would be part of The Jonathan Ross Show, airing on Saturday, 14 February. She recounted attending a friend’s birthday party where she unexpectedly met the Duke of Sussex. As Prince Harry revealed that he was a fan of hers and danced with her, she was left confused whether he was trying to charm her.
"He told me that he had a poster of me on his wall when he was a child," Neve Campbell admitted, remarking at the oddity. The remark introduced a subtle tension, as she wondered if it was heartfelt or merely a polite flourish. They nevertheless danced and exchanged pleasantries, yet no numbers were swapped, leaving the memory intact and fleeting.
"He started talking about his grandmother, and we were chatting, and then I realized who he was talking about, and it was very odd," she continued, according to Hello Magazine, describing how the conversation shifted unexpectedly toward personal reflections. Prince Harry’s warmth and candidness contrasted amusingly with the surreal context, heightening the curious charm of the encounter.
From royal awkwardness to cinematic screams, Neve Campbell proves her return to horror is more than just a cameo.
The return of Neve Campbell
Neve Campbell is officially returning as Sidney Prescott for Scream 7, scheduled for theatrical release on February 27, 2026. Her absence from Scream VI had been widely reported due to a salary dispute, making this comeback highly anticipated by fans of the franchise. Campbell’s return signals a renewed focus on the character who defined modern horror in the late 1990s.
The story follows Sidney Prescott in a quiet town where she has built a life with her husband, Mark Evans, portrayed by Joel McHale, and their daughter, Tatum, played by Isabel May. A new Ghostface killer emerges, targeting Tatum and forcing Sidney to confront her past, intertwining legacy and suspense in the film’s narrative.
Campbell cited to Entertainment Tonight that the involvement of Kevin Williamson, the original creator and writer of the franchise, was a key factor in her decision to return. The film also reunites franchise veterans, including Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, David Arquette reprising Dewey Riley, and Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley in roles linked to past killers, connecting new events to the series’ history.
