Olivia Wilde Leads a Sensual Psychological Thriller as an Artist in Twisted Affair: Premiere and More

If not yet, Olivia Wilde should definitely be referred to for a wide-ranging portfolio. As she plunges into more artistic roles, lines are crossed and psychologies twisted with unconventional relationships of the age.

Director Gregg Araki has delivered yet another story that blends psychology, not only thriller, but the fear of the human heart. And if not for the Don't Worry Darling directing Olivia Wilde, there might not be many who could handle this intensity.

For Araki's new project, I Want Your S--, Wilde dons the role of an outwardly confident artist named Erika Tracy. The film, while dotted with R-rated scenes, explores the nature of human bonding through its most raw and unconventional state. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2026.

Cooper Hoffman, the late  Philip Seymour Hoffman's son, stars alongside Wilde. Wilde takes on a dominant role, while Hoffman plays the submissive half of the pair. The film is also said to be a callback to Gen Z, who look for films with less R-rated content because of the trope's heavy commercialization these days.

Olivia Wilde is, however, not a stranger to stories that explore the atypical.

The indie cinematic trajectory of Olivia Wilde

Olivia Jane Cockburn, nom de plume: Olivia Wilde, is both an actress and a director. Gaining enough insight, she has pursued a career that remained in film but transcended traditionality.

Roles like Remy "Thirteen" Hadley in House, the indie number Drinking Buddies, Meadowland, and A Vigilante are definitive of this. Her directorial work in Booksmart and Don't Worry Darling marks the same.

Olivia Wilde has now reached some sort of precipice of the indie sense with I Want Your S--. With Gregg Araki's prowess in independent cinema, Wilde might have possibly found the perfect match to her tastes.
