Jason Momoa, known for his roles in Game of Thrones and Aquaman, now finds himself amid a real-life crisis as severe flooding continues to disrupt parts of Hawaii. As conditions worsen by the hour, the actor, like many residents, has been forced to navigate growing uncertainty.

Sharing glimpses of the situation, Momoa revealed the scale of devastation unfolding across Oahu, where rising waters and widespread power outages have severely impacted daily life. He confirmed that he and his family had to leave Oahu’s North Shore after a sudden power outage forced them out of their accommodation. While the actor assured that his family is safe, the broader situation remains deeply concerning.

“We’re safe for now, but there’s a lot of people who weren’t, so sending all of our love,” Momoa shared on Instagram Stories.

However, Momoa and his girlfriend also took to Instagram to share how difficult the past week has been for them, while pointing out that the impact stretches far beyond their own experience. They noted that several families have lost their homes and many communities continue to deal with the situation as it unfolds across Oahu.

The situation in Hawaii has remained alarming since the storm intensified, even as officials began easing some evacuation and flash flood warnings on Oahu by Sunday morning. At the same time, other parts of the state continue to remain under threat. Hawaii Governor Josh Green confirmed that emergency teams have rescued more than 230 people so far, with no fatalities reported to date, as operations continue across severely affected areas. He further detailed how rising waters trapped people in camps, forcing urgent rescues, while the coast guard actively pulled individuals from debris drifting in the ocean.

"There were camps that had to be rescued, people were trapped by the water," said Green.

Meanwhile, the Hawaii Department of Transportation temporarily closed parts of the Kuihelani Highway in Maui due to fast-moving water and reported rockfalls impacting other roadways. Authorities also expect Maui County to receive eight to 10 inches of rain over the next few days and have cautioned people against boating between islands as the storm continues to move through. However, officials have yet to determine the full extent of the damage, as Hawaii remains on high flood alert, with Maui County among the worst affected.
