Oscar-Winning Director Used AI for Animated American Revolution Series Until a Key Point

The surreal has taken on a new definition with the coming of AI. So much so that a certain sublimity expert has decided to dabble with maximum computerization for his new project, but to a limit.
Darren Aronofsky has a special place in the digital world, with his first-ever feature, Pi, becoming the first-ever film online. With the onset of the 2020s, Aronofsky has made a mark to maintain the position. Steering away from traditional filmmaking itself, he has finally put his AI studio, Primordial Soup, to the test.
Titled On This Day… 1776, the show is an animated one, focusing on the American Revolution. The series is said to be a combination of Artificial Intelligence and traditional filmmaking. However, the individuals seen in the short-form series are still voiced by real people, particularly SAG-AFTRA union actors, as per Variety.
The series is being distributed by Time Studios on their YouTube channel, as per the studio via Variety. The first 2 episodes, titled January 1: The Flag and January 10: Common Sense, have already been released. Before this show, Primordial Soup had released ANCESTRA in collaboration with filmmaker Eliza McNitt.
Darren Aronofsky's venture into AI, however, does not surprise someone familiar with his directorial roster.
Darren Aronofsky's element of experiment
Avant-Garde is possibly the best description of Darren Aronofsky's cinematic style. Probably not a pioneer, but the Black Swan director is known to have driven the character-over-plot route to a bend.
From micro-budgets like 1997's Pi, or studio blockbusters like 2014's Noah, Aronofsky maintains a sensibility that prioritizes exploring the internal state of his characters over traditional plot progression. With his foot now set into AI, the Oscar-winning helmer might just show the world what it means to experiment.
