Patrick J. Adams Admits He Was “Too Busy” to Guest Star on ‘Suits LA’

When Suits shifted from the bustling legal corridors of New York to the sun-soaked power circles of Los Angeles, fans hoped the new chapter might reunite them with some familiar faces from the original series. Rumors about possible cameos quickly began to swirl around the spinoff. But now one key star has revealed why that reunion never happened.
"I was too busy. I had a lot of stuff going on," Patrick J. Adams explained in an interview with Screen Rant.
Adams skipped a potential cameo in the swiftly canceled Suits LA spinoff because overlapping commitments kept him away. He also mentioned that he was never called upon to be part of the show.
The character first conned his way into Harvey Specter's world at Pearson Hardman, dodging a fiasco to land a lawyer gig sans law school—later passing the bar to go legit. He has stayed close to Suits creator Aaron Korsh and cherishes the universe that skyrocketed his profile.
Other projects like Wayward and A League of Their Own filled his plate, leading to his next big turn in Taylor Sheridan's The Madison alongside Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, tracking a family's Montana rebuild after tragedy. Though Mike's tale felt complete by the original series' end, Adams remains game for a return if a smart pitch lands, proud of the legal drama's enduring legacy.
While Adams' packed schedule kept him away, the spinoff itself faced an even bigger roadblock.
Is Suits LA returning for season 2?
NBC pulled the plug on Suits LA after its first season wrapped, closing the book on Ted Black's high-stakes LA law firm drama. Stephen Amell led as the ex-New York prosecutor turned Hollywood fixer, navigating a crisis that forced him to blur loyalties with colleagues played by Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg.
Guest spots from Gabriel Macht, Brian Baumgartner and Patton Oswalt added flavor, but the ensemble will not reconvene for more courtroom chaos. Creator Aaron Korsh helmed the spinoff with executive producers David Bartis, Doug Liman, and others, echoing the original Suits vibe where underdogs like Mike Ross faked their way to legal glory.
Ted's personal-professional tangles mirrored that spirit, testing bonds amid cutthroat cases, but ratings and buzz fizzled short of renewal hopes. No season 2 means no deeper dive into the firm's survival games or celebrity client drama. The cancellation leaves the Suits universe on ice, with Korsh's team eyeing potential elsewhere, further lessening the odds of Patrick J. Adams coming back to the show.
