"What a disgusting and vile statement," the actor declared on his X account.

Schwarzenegger, known for streaming roles in The White Lotus and The Staircase, reacted to Trump's widely questioned retaliation, further fuelling the shared dismay in entertainment communities.

What watered the outrage was Trump's noting of Reiner's long history of public criticisms against him. This, in turn, had been in reaction to Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer's, tragic deaths in their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025.

As the tragedy swelled, Schwarzenegger was only one of the Hollywood heavyweights piling on the backlash.
