With anticipation growing for Avengers: Doomsday, cast members are starting to offer little glimpses into what it has been like to work on Marvel’s next big crossover event. The film assembles a huge roster of heroes and familiar faces, making this one of the most ambitious MCU projects in years. Meanwhile, Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd recently spoke about the experience of being on set and how the scale of the production left a lasting impression on him.

In a recent interview with Variety, Rudd talked about coming back for Avengers: Doomsday. Having spent over a decade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he called the project exciting. The actor pondered reuniting with long-time co-stars.

“It’s a surreal thing and an amazing thing to be a part of that. I feel like I’ve made friends with so many of the people over the years. I think, wow, I’ve been with Marvel for a long time, but I love it whenever I see all the actors that I’ve worked with on these things several times,” he said.

“There’s something unique to Marvel that is: It makes you feel like a kid. When I look around and see all those actors in their superhero suits, there’s something about that that’s just cool. When you see Chris Hemsworth walking around dressed like Thor — or any of them, really — it’s like, wow, this is crazy. You’re aware of how many kids would freak out if they were able to see this,” he added.

For context, Rudd is reprising his role as Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, in Avengers: Doomsday. Scott will likely be a part of the film’s large ensemble cast, as he played a pivotal role in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and helped the Avengers during the events of Avengers: Endgame. Ant-Man’s knowledge of the Quantum Realm and his already cemented role among Earth’s Mightiest Heroes could make him a key player as the Avengers confront the threat of Doctor Doom.

While Rudd reflected on the magic of returning to Marvel's biggest crossover yet, another Avengers: Doomsday star has now offered an encouraging update on the film's progress.

Wyatt Russell shares hopeful Avengers: Doomsday update and praises co-stars

Since Paul Rudd recently opened up about how Avengers: Doomsday made him feel like a kid again, another cast member has given an exciting update on the movie’s progress. Wyatt Russell said they are mostly done with filming. Russell also shared kind words for some of his co-stars.

“It's looking awesome from what I've been able to glean. Sebastian is amazing in it. I know David's going to be great in it. We worked a lot on set with everybody, and Florence was on set with them and all the other people that you get to be on. So I've had a blast, and I'm excited to be able to see it,” he said, in a recent interview, as per Deadline.

Avengers: Doomsday hype is steadily growing as filming is wrapping up, and a few cast members are posting about their great experiences on set. Rudd described the awe of seeing Marvel’s legendary heroes team up, while Russell offered reassurance that the project is coming together well. Marvel is keeping the details of the story secret, but the excitement of the two actors has only heightened the anticipation that Avengers: Doomsday could be a big and ambitious project in the MCU so far.

Could the growing enthusiasm from Paul Rudd and Wyatt Russell be a sign that Avengers: Doomsday is shaping up to be Marvel's biggest event yet? Let us know in the comments.
