Somewhere between a 110 million big YouTube tryst and settling down, PewDiePie's drawing skills have awakened new possibilities. The courtesy is of the Japanese animation giant behind Attack on Titan.

Swedish YouTuber Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, aka PewDiePie, had completed a year-long drawing challenge in 2024. Two years later, his discipline caught Japan's leading animation house, WIT Studio's eye.

Revealed via PewDiePie's video uploaded on January 16, 2026, the YouTuber received a letter a few months prior. The letter in question has been an invitation for him to participate in the backstage process of animation.

"I was not just coming for a visit, I was actually coming to participate, "PewDiePie said in the video's introduction. The YouTuber was also gifted a digitally drawn portrait of himself as a member of the Scout Regiment, shown in Attack on Titan.

PewDiePie's efforts that led him to WIT Studio were no child's play, actually.

YouTube's biggest drawing challenge by PewDiePie

PewDiePie's YouTube has garnered 29.4 billion views through the years. In 2024, he took up a drawing challenge that matched the size of his channel.

A 30-day drawing challenge where he drew every day escalated to 100, and eventually to 365 days of drawing regularly. He received a generally awed reaction at the YouTuber's dedication, inspiring several people to return to, or start practicing art as well.

Using YouTube as a self-improvement project has landed PewDiePie at the very core of animation. Millions have spent a day at WIT Studio, vicariously through PewDiePie.
