With one season of chasing happiness out, down, Pluribus' ominous season finale looked like it had more to say. The creators, too, seem to be transcribing exactly.

The first season of the Apple TV show has aired its finale as of December 24, 2025. With an approval rating of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, Pluribus' creator, which it shares with Breaking Bad, has already kick-started season two.

"We're lucky that we have a series 2 already in the offing," he told Radio Times. Being a creator, Vince Gilligan has expressed the painstaking process and length of creation, as well.

With the timelines of production revealed during the Radio Times interview, it is evident that season 2 will take its time to arrive.

The wait it demands might seem long, but Pluribus' first season has justified it plentily.

Pluribus' hook that chased happiness out

Picking off on the very grounds Breaking Bad left the audience at, Pluribus centres on Carol Struka. The show follows the romance novelist's existence as a defect in a world where happiness is injected like a virus.

With the lineup helmed by Rhea Seehorn, Carolina Wydra, and Carlos Manuel Vesga, the series spans 9 episodes. The first season's ending declared ominosity with more characters Joining the Hive, leaving spectators devastated at the effects.

Pluribus' gist is part of the individualist versus collectivist society. Free will, thought, the real meaning of community, and happiness are debated throughout the show.
