Amazon has taken yet another step forward with the next James Bond, but it is with someone far from the expected. While Riz Ahmed is definitely not the next James Bond, he does get to audition for the role in Bait.

Prime Video has unveiled a clip from its upcoming TV Series, Bait, set to premiere on March 25, 2026. The clip in question is havoc unfolding, as Shah (Riz Ahmed) is called to audition for the next James Bond, a popular ongoing debate in real-virtual life.

"It's a big deal, you know, brown James Bond," Shah exclaims to his disbelieving father. In the background, the rest of his family chatters over the role he has not exactly bagged yet.

Bait is set to cover four increasingly unravelling days in Shah Latif, a struggling actor's life, set in motion by the backlash that comes with the audition. In addition, Riz Ahmed helms the series as an executive producer.

The faces for Bait have been chosen with just as much nuance as the plot.

The cast that caught Riz Ahmed's Bait

Alongside Riz Ahmed, British comedian and actor Guz Khan will play Zulfi. Sheeba Chaddha, Sajid Hassan, Aasiya Shah, Weruche Opia, and Ritu Arya will also appear in the series. They will don the roles of Tahira, Parvez, Q, Felicia, and Yasmin, respectively.

The series is set to premiere at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, a part of the Episodic section. Bait also marks the first-ever TV series created by Oscar-nominated actor and producer Riz Ahmed.
