Across the United States, Girl Scout cookie season is a rite of passage where young scouts learn teamwork, leadership, and a little friendly competition while neighborhoods stock up on Thin Mints and Samoas. The culture has long fascinated Americans, and now it is heading to the big screen as Roadside Attractions prepares to honor the tradition via Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Sundance entry, Cookie Queens.
Roadside Attractions just picked up U.S. rights to Cookie Queens, the Sundance standout produced by Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry through their Archewell Productions. The film, directed by Alysa Nahmias, turns the yearly Girl Scout cookie hustle into a heartfelt look at girlhood, showing the laughs, pressure, and real growth as young sellers chase a massive $800 million yearly haul.
It pairs with producers from Beautiful Stories and AJNA Films for a summer 2026 theatrical push after earning standing ovations and a perfect Rotten Tomatoes score at its world premiere. Roadside, known for bold nonfictions like Super Size Me and The Cove, sees the doc as a perfect fit for their track record with crowd-pleasing stories.
The deal came through reps at WME and Submarine, highlighting how the film mixes community spirit with the grind of selling, all while capturing the emotional side of those cookie runs that feel so familiar to anyone who has ever knocked on doors with an order form.
While the documentary heads to theaters, Meghan Markle is heading Down Under for her own fresh chapter.
Meghan Markle heads to Australia for a women’s retreat
Meghan Markle will join her husband, Prince Harry, for an April trip to Australia, marking seven years since their 2018 royal visit. This time around, private business and charity stops include her starring role at a swanky Sydney women-only weekend retreat organized by the Her Best Life podcast. Tickets for which kick off at A$2,699, with VIPs at A$3,100 shelling out for front-row gala dinner seats,
A group photo with Meghan, and extras like yoga, sound healing, disco nights, and manifestation workshops at a five-star Coogee Beach hotel are part of the event lineup. The event also comes hot on the heels of Markle's lifestyle brand, As Ever, cutting ties with Netflix, which wrapped up their 2020 $100 million content deal.
That deal had previously led to With Love Meghan, Meghan's cooking show, which ran for two seasons and a holiday special that underwhelmed viewers. Regardless, from producing a Sundance doc on Girl Scout cookie culture to starring at a Sydney women’s retreat, Meghan’s post-royal moves continue blending storytelling with personal growth
