Following the Anyone But You promotions, which took home the trophy by blurring the lines between real and reel, the standards for marketing a new movie have been elevated to new heights. However, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya are taking this in a dramatically new direction for The Drama.

Promoting their A24 film, The Drama with the Interview magazine, they can be seen in a peculiar and quirky genre of photoshoot, which is gender-bending. It has Zendaya and Pattinson in a look that means something, effectively rendering the interview theme as 'I don't know,' as revealed by the interview.

The pictures are chaotic, emotionally brimming, and dramatic to the core. Herein, Pattinson has a bold look wearing a laced camisole, blonde wig, and smudged red lipstick. While Zendaya has her hair tied on either side, dressed in camisol and with imperfect porcelain face makeup. It is like a chaos beautifully dressed in imperfect looks.

The images from the Interview magazine, reflect the vibe of the trailer itself, which was chaos represented in the finest manner. Zendaya, glazed in porcelain makeup, looks less adorned than armoured, like someone wearing a face meant to conceal a truth that insists on introducing itself anyway. Much like the trailer, the reveal is inevitable.

Then there is Robert Pattinson, draped in gender-bending defiance, suggesting either a man auditioning for a self he doesn’t quite recognise, or one already swallowed whole by hers. Their mirrored wardrobe choices hint at alignment, perhaps even intimacy.

That closeness, it seems, is not strictly theatrical. The co-stars have orbited one another before, crossing paths in The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three, before landing together in The Drama. By the time they sat down with Interview magazine, the conversation unfolded less like a press obligation and more like old colleagues swapping notes.

With the sparks piling up from working together on various projects, The Drama thanks to its impeccable casting is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2026.

The Drama, featuring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson as a couple, is set to release on April 3, 2026. It is a film by Kristoffer Borgli is joining forces with heavyweight producers Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone for the film.

The film revolves around the engaged pair, ready to get married when, in a game of revelations, Zendaya's character Emma Harwood discloses something that is unbelievable to the others, leading to the rest of the drama in the film.

As the first promotional campaign, A24 ran a mock engagement announcement for the fictional characters (Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson) in The Boston Globe. This followed by their unconventional Interview Magazine photos has created a lot of buzz regarding the project.
