Robert Pattinson apparently does not need a Batmobile to travel from Gotham to ancient Greece. The actor arrived at The Odyssey world premiere in London on July 6 carrying a piece of Gotham with him and giving Batman fans the ray of hope they had waited years to see. And while Pattinson’s The Odyssey villain Antinous is already stuffing his backpack with rave reactions, it seems his Gotham alter ego may soon need to fight for some space in there.

Speaking to Variety recently, Pattinson revealed that he had come straight from filming The Batman Part II earlier that very morning. Pattinson joked that he still had the dark eye makeup worn beneath Batman’s cowl on his face after coming straight from the sequel’s set. And while the carpet belonged to Christopher Nolan’s Greek epic, Bruce Wayne had apparently refused to take the evening off.

“I’ve still got eye make-up on!” Pattinson told Variety.

But Pattinson was not at the premiere to promote only one cinematic monster. He plays the vicious Antinous in Nolan’s The Odyssey, joining Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, and Mia Goth in the colossal ensemble ahead of the film’s July 17 release. Early reactions have already singled out Pattinson’s manipulative villain for praise, meaning the actor apparently spent his Monday jumping from Gotham’s tortured hero to ancient Greece’s walking red flag.

However, beyond Pattinson’s playful revelation to Variety, that tiny slice of information was exactly what Batman fans had waited years to hear.

The Batman Part II is finally rolling after years of delays

The Batman Part II officially entered production in London in June 2026, with Pattinson back under the cowl as Matt Reeves’ noir-soaked Bruce Wayne ahead of its October 1, 2027, theatrical release. After years of script delays, the sequel is finally moving, while Reeves and Pattinson continue keeping its plot locked tighter than the Batcave. The film will remain separate from James Gunn’s main DC Universe, with Pattinson continuing to rule his own dark corner of Gotham alongside returning stars Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell.

But apparently, fighting crime at night is only one item on Pattinson’s increasingly unhinged calendar. After The Odyssey hits theaters on July 17, 2026, the actor will enter Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi universe with Dune: Part Three on December 18, 2026, before continuing his packed slate with projects including The Drama and Primetime. From ancient Greece to deep space and straight back into Gotham, Pattinson’s schedule looks less like a filmography and more like someone violently changing television channels.

And while Pattinson arrived at The Odyssey premiere to celebrate ancient Greece, the Batman makeup still clinging to his face made one thing brutally clear: Gotham has finally dragged its Dark Knight back to work.
