Robert Pattinson Thinks He Is “Cursed”, Here’s Why

Actors often develop unwitting on-screen signatures that define their personas and boost box office appeal. Tom Cruise is synonymous with sprinting through chaos in nearly every Mission: Impossible flick, while Brad Pitt's characters habitually munch on snacks, be it sandwiches or donuts, adding quirky charm to his cool demeanor. Even Robert Pattinson has one such signature, but he believes it is a curse.

Robert Pattinson humorously described his recurring dance scenes as a personal curse during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! while promoting his latest film, The Drama, alongside Zendaya. When Kimmel noted that he thinks he has seen Pattinson dance in a couple of movies, Pattinson quipped,

"Every single movie. It's a curse. Long, long dance scenes which require a lot of rehearsal."

Pattinson's frustration is no joke. It is rooted in real on-set anxiety, like nearly suffering a mental breakdown during an impromptu dance with Jennifer Lawrence in Die, My Love. He confessed to sweating so much that the insides of his trousers were wet, as director Lynne Ramsay and the naturally gifted Lawrence pushed for freestyle over scripted moves.

The trend persists in The Drama, Kristoffer Borgli's wedding thriller, where Pattinson needed Zendaya to spend two hours decoding a baffling scene for him, amid its own dance-heavy moments. From Twilight to Mickey 17's sci-fi antics, these sequences have become his unintended signature, blending embarrassment with endearing vulnerability that fans adore.

But even with the so-called curse following him on set, Robert Pattinson has a very busy year ahead with Zendaya.

Robert Pattinson lines up major projects with Zendaya

Following his recent promo rounds for The Drama, Robert Pattinson has an intriguing 2026 lineup that keeps him paired with Zendaya for much of the year. After their wedding thriller wraps its buzz, the duo reunites in Dune: Part Three, Denis Villeneuve's epic continuation of the sci-fi saga, where Pattinson takes on a mysterious new role in Arrakis' escalating war.

Pattinson then pivots to Christopher Nolan's ambitious The Odyssey, a genre-bending take on Homer's epic with Zendaya reportedly circling a key part alongside him, though details remain under wraps until Nolan's typical late-year reveals. This project marks Pattinson's second Nolan collaboration after Tenet, blending high-concept visuals with mythological depth.

Tied back to Pattinson's self-proclaimed "dance curse," this packed slate adds ironic layers: Dune: Part Three may demand more stylized movement in its Fremen rituals, while The Odyssey could unleash Nolan's penchant for choreographed spectacle.
