Seth MacFarlane has not closed the door on Ted Season 3 or even another movie, but he made it clear that any future installment depends on Peacock being willing to spend big. Speaking at a recent panel at Deadline Contenders TV, MacFarlane said the entire team would gladly return for another chapter if Peacock puts enough money behind it.

“It really is up to Peacock with their, you know, vast amounts of big Scrooge McDuck money that they dive into every day,” MacFarlane said. “I think all of us, in some form or another, whether it's a Season 3 of Ted or a direct-to-Peacock feature with this cast, is something I think we’d all be up for. It’s all on the table.”

His comments offer fans a glimmer of hope after weeks of uncertainty surrounding the future of the Ted prequel series. Despite becoming one of Peacock’s strongest comedy performers, the franchise has yet to secure an official renewal, leaving viewers wondering if the teddy bear’s story has reached its end.

The situation is especially surprising given the momentum behind Ted Season 2, which delivered huge streaming numbers after its March 2026 release. Even with that success, MacFarlane admits the economics behind bringing the CGI-heavy comedy back remain the biggest hurdle.

With the possibility of Ted continuing still alive, fans are looking back at the prequel series moments that made the show such a streaming success.

The most iconic highlights of the Ted prequel journey

The first season of Ted brought audiences back to the 1990s, where the wisecracking bear caused chaos while navigating high school life alongside a teenage John Bennett. From awkward school dance disasters to the sharp banter between Ted and John, the season captured the same outrageous humor that made the original films so popular.

Season 2 expanded the story by diving deeper into teenage rebellion and family dynamics. One of its standout moments featured a seemingly simple grocery store trip spiraling into complete comedic chaos, while the growing bond between the Bennett family members gave the series added emotional depth.

The prequel wrapped up with a finale that neatly connected its story to the 2012 Ted movie, offering fans a satisfying bridge to the original film. With the show proving to be a hit for Peacock, many viewers are hopeful that MacFarlane’s optimism and enough financial backing could lead to more adventures for the beloved talking bear.

Whether Ted returns as Season 3 or as a new Peacock movie, MacFarlane has made one thing clear: the interest is there, but the next move belongs to Peacock. Fans will now be waiting to see if the streamer is ready to open the vault.

Are you hoping Peacock brings back Ted for Season 3, or would you rather see the franchise return as a new movie?
