While speaking about her recent child support settlement, in which she agreed to pay her estranged husband Daniel Bernad over $40,000 in monthly payments, Sia took to X and described herself as a sober working mom trying to buy peace, while also sharing that she has primary custody of her son and, as the only parent earning income, still has to manage California’s incredibly high child support.

"I’m a sober working mom trying to buy peace," the 'Chandelier' singer wrote. "I have primary custody of our son and since i am the only parent earning income i still have to pay California’s incredibly high child support," Sia posted on X.

While writing further, Sia shared how this has been a difficult year, but one that taught her how to navigate incredibly difficult situations, prioritise her family, and not absorb other people’s negativity. She ended her note with a line from Alexander Pope, quoting “to err is human, to forgive is divine.” Reports also reveal that she will be paying around $42,500 per month in child support for their son, Somersault Wonder Bernad, as per court filings.

As the payment already began on April 1, Sia also caught headlines earlier in 2025 with dating rumours involving Harry Jowsey.
