Ariana Grande could not be prouder right now. While the singer is gearing up for her highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine Tour, her brother Frankie Grande is celebrating a major career milestone after landing his first Tony Awards nomination for his latest musical, 'Titanique'. With both siblings enjoying headline-worthy moments of their own, the Grande family is giving fans plenty to cheer for this weekend.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on June 8, Frankie Grande revealed that Ariana has been one of his biggest cheerleaders since the nomination was announced. According to Frankie, the singer has been constantly texting him and showering him with praise, even while juggling the opening night of her Eternal Sunshine Tour. In fact, he joked that whenever he tried to congratulate her on the tour, Ariana quickly shifted the conversation back to his Tony milestone, insisting that the focus should remain on him.
"My sister's reaction was like, yes absolutely. She was just so proud of me you know I still am getting texts from her. She opened our tour last night and all she wants to… I keep asking her questions and all she wanted to talk about [was] the Tonys," Frankie told Entertainment Tonight.
Meanwhile, the night proved to be a particularly proud one for Grande. The performer celebrated his first-ever Tony Awards nomination as a co-producer of Titanique, which earned a coveted Best Musical nomination at the 79th Annual Tony Awards. The hit production also picked up nods for Best Book of a Musical, Best Leading Actress in a Musical, and Best Featured Actor in a Musical. Marking the milestone, Frankie walked the red carpet alongside his mother, Joan Grande, who shared the Best Musical nomination as a fellow producer.
However, he was not the only Grande sibling celebrating a major milestone this weekend.
Ariana Grande returns to the stage with her first tour in seven years
The singer officially kicked off the Eternal Sunshine Tour on June 6 at Oakland Arena in California, marking her first arena tour in seven years. Built around the Eternal Sunshine era, the opening-night show featured a 23-song setlist packed with hits such as 'Thank U, Next', '7 Rings', 'Into You', and 'Dangerous Woman', alongside tracks from the album and its deluxe edition, Brighter Days Ahead. The tour arrives on the heels of one of Ariana Grande's most successful musical eras to date.
The 'Eternal Sunshine' era made history for Ariana Grande, helping her become the first female artist with multiple No. 1 debuts from two different albums. The album opened atop the Billboard 200 with 227,000 equivalent album units, while both 'Yes, And?' and 'We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)' debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
With Frankie Grande celebrating a Tony Awards milestone and Ariana Grande commanding arenas once again, the Grande family has no shortage of reasons to celebrate.
