Stranger Things may have ended, but its voice still lurks on the charts. With the finale settling in, enthusiasts are reaching out to music compiled for the show now, more than ever.

The Netflix horror show had made itself staunch in following the 80s aesthetic. Faithfully, Stranger Things' theme has included beats from the age as well, showing them the way to Spotify charts as far into the future as 2026.

Post the much-debated closure of the series, 'Every Breath You Take' by The Police, 'Running Up That Hill' by Kate Bush, and Prince's 1984 song 'Purple Rain' are the three most-streamed out of the nine featured tracks on the chart. They stand on #6, #16, and #38, respectively.

'Everybody Wants to Rule the World', 'Should I Stay or Should I Go', 'Landslide', 'Africa', 'Upside Down', and 'Heroes' are the rest of the tracks on the Global chart. These are songs by Tears for Fears, The Clash, Fleetwood Mac, Toto, Diana Ross, and David Bowie, respectively.

These tracks shooting up the charts go hand in hand with the long-awaited Stranger Things' finale.

Stranger Things, almost a decade later

Stranger Things first appeared on screens in July 2016. The very last episode of the series, on the other hand, commenced on the last day of 2025.

During its run, the cast, as well as the spectators, were swept up in changes. Characters once hated were redeemed to invincibility and villain origins thoerized over to no end. While Stranger Things immortalized the '80s on screen, it itself marked the beginning and ending of an entire age.

As Stranger Things' end makes itself at home, the audience mulls over the change through music. Spotify, on the other hand, sees itself as being dominated by nostalgia.
