Survivor 50 is bringing back the iconic Sia Fan Favorite prize with a major twist. During the May 13 episode, host Jeff Probst revealed that fans will now vote for their favorite player of the season. The winner will be announced during the May 20 finale and will receive $100,000.
“Well, this season has been In the Hands of the Fans,” Probst says in the video. “And now there is one fan vote left to make. Since 2016, global pop star and Survivor super fan Sia has given away over a million dollars of her own money to players who moved us with their gameplay. This season, she is turning that honor over to the fans, trusting you to celebrate the kind of player she always recognizes,” host Jeff Probst announced the news while standing dramatically on Fijian rocks during an ad break on the May 13 episode of Survivor.
The announcement instantly reignited excitement around one of Survivor’s most memorable traditions. Since first surprising Tai Trang with $50,000 during the Survivor: Kaoh Rong finale in 2016, Sia has awarded money to fan-favorite contestants across multiple seasons, often creating emotional moments that became just as iconic as the game itself.
This time, however, the power shifts directly to viewers. Fans can now vote online for their favorite player, making the Sia-branded prize more interactive than ever before. While it remains unclear whether Sia is personally funding the reward this season, the return of the fan-favorite honor has already sparked heavy speculation about who could take home the six-figure bonus.
Even outside the game, Sia’s influence on entertainment continues growing, making the return of her beloved Survivor tradition feel even bigger this season.
Sia returns to the spotlight in more ways than one
The renewed buzz around Sia comes as the singer is also making headlines in the music world. Recently, legendary artist Chaka Khan launched her new musical era with Chakzilla', a new collaboration featuring backing vocals from Sia and production by Greg Kurstin.
The track marks Chaka Khan’s return nearly seven years after her last studio album, with the full 'Chakzilla' album set to be released on September 18, 2026. Sia not only contributed vocals to the song but also helped create the title, further showcasing her continued influence across both music and pop culture.
As for Survivor 50, fan predictions are already flooding social media ahead of the finale. Many viewers believe Cirie Fields could be the frontrunner for the fan-favorite prize, while former Sia favorites like Rick Devens and Ozzy Lusth are also generating buzz.
