After Meredith Lynch recently criticized stars attending the 2026 Met Gala over its backing by co-chairs Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, the American actress Taraji P. Henson has now joined the conversation with a strikingly similar stance. While Lynch’s Instagram video has already pushed the debate into headlines, Henson’s reaction has further intensified the scrutiny around who chose to show up amid backlashes. However, her words sharpen the spotlight on a night people thought would remain solely a grand celebration.

Commenting on Lynch’s Instagram post calling out Bezos, Henson stepped in, questioning why people were still choosing to attend, making her confusion impossible to ignore. She then pushed it a step further with a pointed caption, “Enjoy the MET.”

“I am so confused by some ppl that are going,” Taraji P. Henson commented.

However, despite the outrage, the controversy surrounding Bezos did little to slow the night down, as some of Hollywood’s biggest names still stepped out for the Met Gala. Stars like Bad Bunny, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Margot Robbie, Colman Domingo, and Beyoncé attended the night, with Beyoncé co-chairing alongside Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams, and Anna Wintour. The 2026 edition leaned fully into its “Fashion is Art” theme, from the Costume Art exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

And while the controversy continues to ripple beyond the red carpet, the night itself was far from quiet when it came to fashion.

She arrived alongside Jay-Z and daughter Blue Ivy Carter, marking one of the night’s most talked-about family moments. Meanwhile, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky closed the carpet in signature style, with Rihanna dazzling in a jewel-encrusted Maison Margiela look and Rocky in a striking pink Chanel coat.

Elsewhere, Anna Wintour leaned into the theme with a feathered Chanel creation, while co-chair Nicole Kidman stunned in a deep red beaded gown. Venus Williams brought sparkle with a statement silver neckpiece over a black gown, as Serena Williams shimmered in a sleek silver Marc Jacobs ensemble.

However, alongside several other top A-list names, the carpet transformed into a high-fashion spectacle, proving the night’s glamour remained just as commanding as its controversy.
