Taylor Swift is considered an empress in the musical world, and the massive scale of her performances coincides. The Senate of Michigan, however, expresses an exploitation at the hands of their ticket prices.

Michigan State has passed the Taylor Swift bills with Governor Gretchen Whitmer's signature. Officially called the Event Online Ticket Sales Act, Swift's Eras Tour's tickets seem to have played a role in its generation.

"The Great War over Eras Tour tickets highlighted the need," said Representative Mike Harris, as per Click on Detroit. Harris expressed the bill's importance in helping Michiganers visit these events more easily.

"House Bill 4262 helps protect Michigan consumers by preventing ticket-buying bots," stated Harris, as per Click on Detroit. The bill stands to cease scam-bots from bulk-buying and reselling tickets at inflated prices.

Taylor Swift's name stands representative of this for a reason, or rather, an event of its own.

The great pitfall of the legendary Eras Tour

The United States legs of the Eras Tour had seen the general excitement from fans when it came to Taylor Swift events. Tour operator Live Nation's Ticketmaster, however, did not share the fervor.

In November 2022, the ticket-booking site posed several problems for onlookers as they tried to get their way. The website crashed, and large sales to bots kept inflating the ticket prices. This made it an unrewarding experience for the human buyers in line.

Taylor Swift has, in fact, spoken against Ticketmaster's mishandling of the sales. Regardless, the bill being passed has her name plastered on it.
