Handling a musical empire is as heavy as the terminology itself, and yet Taylor Swift strums it like a guitar. In only a few months past her late thirties, Swift has sauntered into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame honors those who have made efforts to encapsulate the prevalence of English songs. Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, it seems, has not only preserved and forwarded the category, but also become the youngest person to do so.

On January 21, 2026, CBS Mornings announced the inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 2026 class. So far, Ashley Gorley, 48, was the youngest songwriter in the Hall. Taylor Swift, 36, has easily moved the bar up.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame requires a song to be at least 20 years old, along with a stellar songwriters' portoflio. Taylor Swift, right on track, had her first single, 'Tim McGraw', hit the radios in 2006.

Swift is joined by writers of exactly, if not greater, significance in the field of age than her.

Who are the Songwriters Hall of Fame 2026 class?

Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley, Alanis Morissette, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Stewart, Terry Britten & Graham Lyle, and Walter Afanasieff. They are 76, 74, 51, 78, 52, 79, 81, and 67 years old, respectively.

This was also the first ever time Taylor Swift had been nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame class. While on her streak of greatness, Swift has made yet another unseen achievement seem as possible as taking over the musical world.
