The Marvels had very much been an encapsulation of its name, with Nia DaCosta eyeing each frame. As the screen stands in testimony, her flair might just make Invincible next.

Nia DaCosta helmed the 2023 Disney MCU movie, The Marvels. In a Q&A session on Reddit, the director has revealed a wish to extend the supernatural expertise beyond the Avengers' extended play.

"I would LOVE to direct a live-action film version of Robert Kirkman's Invincible," DaCosta answered when asked about other franchises on her list. Moreover, DaCosta also revealed her ambition to not be sans a clear vision.

"I know exactly how I'd want to translate that world," she wrote on Reddit. Nia DaCosta has also directed part of another well-known franchise, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, out on January 16, 2026.

While one can easily take her word for it, DaCosta has also more than proven herself perfect for a live-action Invincible.

A 2018 crime-drama film about a woman facing gender struggle, to say the least, marked Nia DaCosta's directorial debut. DaCosta went on to win the esteemed Norah Ephron Prize for the film, titled Little Woods.

DaCosta carried on and made history with her next film, Candyman. She became the first black female director to debut at #1 at the American box office in 2021, among many more achievements.

Nia DaCosta has gone on to direct films like The Marvels and Hedda. Her potential for the Invincible stands not only proven but cemented in cinema.
