It is always a major event when a director as meticulous as Christopher Nolan breaks a long-standing tradition - especially after nearly three decades. Throughout these years, he has given the audience masterpiece after masterpiece as a director, writer, and producer - and has been celebrated in those roles with several accolades and recognitions. Now, after 28 years of filmmaking, he has emerged in a new role in the end credits of The Odyssey, setting a new career first for the legend.

After 28 years as a director, Christopher Nolan has received his first credit as a lyricist. The director co-wrote the lyrics for Travis Scott's original end-credits song in The Odyssey, according to an exclusive story from ScreenRant. James Blake and Ludwig Göransson both contributed to the song 'When I'm Home,' alongside Nolan.

In an interview with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley, actor John Leguizamo, who portrays Eumaeus in the movie based on Homer's epic, corroborated the information. He was excited by Travis Scott's contribution to the closing credits. Leguizamo also emphasized Nolan's contribution to the song's lyrics.

“With Chris being one of the lyricists,” Leguizamo said during the chat.  

Nolan is acknowledged as one of the songwriters and lyricists of the original song that musician Scott composed for The Odyssey. Göransson, Blake, Scott, and Nolan are listed as the song's four co-writers. This would be the first time the director has received such recognition for a movie he has helmed. ScreenRant received separate confirmation of the story from Universal, along with the complete text used in the upcoming film's credits.

While Nolan is getting his first credit as a songwriter, Scott is getting his first nod as an actor in The Odyssey.

Alongside the dazzling ensemble cast featuring heavy-hitters like Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Tom Holland, Lupita Nyong'o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page, Jon Bernthal, and many more, rapper Travis Scott also makes an acting appearance in The Odyssey, in fact, his first one yet. 

Although Scott's part in The Odyssey has not yet been revealed, he is rumored to be a bard who performs Trojan War verses for soldiers. The studio has not yet made his character's name public. The movie is just around the corner, releasing in about one week on July 17, 2026. Shot for IMAX, it is touted by the makers to be an experience for the biggest screens possible.
