In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Caleb McLaughlin called the Stranger Things 'Conformity Gate' theory plainly dumb, pointing out that it likely emerged from fans’ desire to extend the show’s magic. He explained that, according to him, the theory reflected an imaginative leap, not reality, fueled by nostalgia and lingering attachment to the series.

 "I get that people want to live in this optimistic place of, 'Oh, we want more Stranger Things,' but the show is done, guys," McLaughlin said, emphasizing that it was time to conclude the decade-long story. In fact, according to him, people who believed a secret 9th episode was real completely missed the show's concept.

"It is all just storytelling," he added to The Hollywood Reporter, framing the fantasy of an extra episode as purely narrative invention. He claimed that it was all Mike Wheeler’s imagination, explaining that the series’ charm lies in this very storytelling prowess rather than hidden content, reinforcing the finality of Season 5.

The actor has clearly closed the Hawkins chapter in his life and is now charting new adventures beyond the Upside Down.

Future projects of Caleb McLaughlin to keep an eye on

Caleb McLaughlin is keeping a busy schedule with several promising future projects. He stars as the voice of Will Harris in Goat , an animated sports comedy produced by Stephen Curry, which follows a young goat chasing his dream of professional 'roarball.'
