Timothée Chalamet has more than just his acting to thank for Marty Supreme's yet unfolding success. As 2026 settles in, the actor has his checklist for art-making at hand.

The Palm Springs International Film Festival attracts the Hollywood crowd fresh from the New Year's break. Just as fresh-faced as Timothée Chalamet was while recounting what he is truly grateful for as an artist.

"Every day, to wake up in good health and have the opportunity to create things for the world is truly a gift," Chalamet reflected. He shared that the film industry has not fallen together simply by chance, but by effort.

Chalamet received the Spotlight award for his efforts in the December 25, 2025, released film Marty Supreme, as announced by Palm Springs Film Society in December. His role centered on embodying the ambitious tennis player, Marty Mauser, based on real-life player Marty Reiseman.

With Timothée Chalamet filling in one slot, the PSIFF 2026 had other revered positions to give away as well.

Palm Springs International Film Festival awardees 2026

The California Film Festival is, per usual, held in Palm Springs. Actors like Rose Byrne, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Leonardo DiCaprio, Paul Mescal, and Jessie Buckley received awards as well.

They were awarded the Breakthrough Performance Award, Visionary Award, Desert Palm Achievement Award, and Vanguard Award, respectively. Filmmakers Guillermo Del Toro and Chloé Zhao for Frankenstein and Hamnet were also thrown into the mix, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Timothée Chalamet's efforts are now Palm Springs Film Festival certified. The actor, in turn, has made it apparent that he is not taking it for granted.
