The Dark Knight was released 17 years ago, but Christian Bale has followed Batman's path to date. Bale's $22 million innovation for foster families now defines him.

Christian Bale had come up with an ideal foster care design when his daughter was growing up. Seventeen years later, the actor's empathy manifested in Together California, Bale's very own foster care village.

As per the Together California website, the village has been under construction since 2024. The families' move-in to the area has been scheduled for a 2026 inauguration on the website.

The Together California village is located in Palmdale, California, 4.67 acres in size, with funding secured in 2022, as per the website. As per SF Gate, the land will house 12 homes and a 7,000-square-foot open space for recreation and community.

Christian Bale's philanthropic magnum opus, however, did not come without a side of a feast in filmography.

Christian Bale's village of film in the last 17 years

Christian Bale's foster care brainstorming miraculously coincided with his role in The Dark Knight. However, his past 17 years in Hollywood have been more than just being Batman.

Bale followed his portfolio with winning films like Vice, American Hustle, and Ford vs. Ferrari, among others. Moreover, contrary to his starring in The Dark Knight, his supporting role in The Fighter gifted the actor his first Oscar win in 2011.

Bale's inclination to become the craft he performs has won him more than awards. With Together California, Christian Bales has truly done what defines him.
