Fans are hardly alone in counting down Tom Holland’s next moves, as his Marvel peers are matching the enthusiasm beat for beat. Years of polished ensemble press junkets and affectionate interview banter have proven how closely knit the cast remains. Their well-documented bond is unmistakable, especially as they cheer on their younger co-star’s looming cinematic dominance.
During an MTV TV guessing game, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth openly championed Holland’s momentum with the release of The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day in the same month. The two showed unyielding excitement for his films after hilariously trying to guess him.
“I’ll be seeing both 3 to 4 times,” Chris Hemsworth said after he called Tom Holland their favorite Avenger. The two even joked about how they would be asking Matt Damon and Holland to invite them to their premiere, hilariously flaunting their connections.
“Why are we not in the films?,” Mark Ruffalo joked, mockingly withdrawing his support in exaggerated outrage during the guessing game with MTV UK. Hemsworth escalated the bit by pitching Ruffalo as Spider-Man and himself as “the guy from The Odyssey,” proving their well-worn comedic chemistry remains delightfully intact.
And while some may already be mourning their chemistry with Tom Holland, others think that it will not be the actor's last rodeo with Hulk and Thor.
Will Tom Holland truly not be in Avengers: Doomsday?
Marvel Studios, with characteristic restraint, has declined to place Tom Holland in Avengers: Doomsday. The announcement favored sturdier furniture, namely Fantastic Four chairs and multiversal X-Men. Peter Parker, for once, was told to wait outside.
Daniel Richtman insists Holland is being preserved for Avengers: Secret Wars, like a dramatic final course. Meaning that if Hulk and Thor survive into Avengers: Secret Wars, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth could plausibly reunite onscreen with Holland later.
In addition to that, Jeff Sneider has given his take with practical logic, noting Holland was busy enduring Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey while Doomsday assembled its guest list. But it does not mean that NO Spider-Man will be in Avengers: Doomsday.
The anonymous insider reporter on X, MyTimeToShineHello reported Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man variant as a confirmed Doomsday return, potentially opposite Wolverine. Meaning that Spider-Man may be in Avengers: Doomsday, just not Tom Holland's Spider-Man.
