Travis Kelce and Colin Jost found unexpected common ground this week — joking about what it is like to be the “less famous” partner in relationships with global superstars Taylor Swift and Scarlett Johansson.

“How nice is it to be the less famous person in the relationship?” the Kansas City Chiefs star jokingly asked Jost when he appeared on the May 13 episode of the New Heights podcast, hosted by Travis and brother Jason Kelce. Without hesitation, the Saturday Night Live comedian replied, “Huge relief. Really.”

The playful exchange quickly turned into what Jost jokingly called a member meeting of the “plus one fraternity,” with both men laughing over the unique realities of sharing life with two of the world’s most recognizable women.

But for Travis Kelce and Colin Jost, being the “less famous” partner comes with far more perks — and funny moments — than drawbacks.

During a conversation on New Heights , Colin Jost revealed that despite Scarlett Johansson being far more famous, he actually gets approached by fans more often because audiences feel more comfortable recognizing someone they regularly see on television.

“It’s really funny because I’m probably almost approached more because she’s less approachable…Because I’m on TV. I’m in their living room.”Jost explained.

He also recalled one particularly bizarre recurring moment while travelling with Johansson. According to Jost, passport officers sometimes stare at Scarlett’s ID and still ask whether anyone has ever told her she looks like Scarlett Johansson — without realizing it is actually her.

“We’ll open the sandwich, and nothing is right,” Jost joked that ordering food with Johansson rarely ends well because staff members become too distracted after recognizing the Black Widow actress.

For Travis Kelce, meanwhile, life alongside Taylor Swift has come with its own surreal moments. Since the couple went public in 2023, Kelce has frequently found himself swept into Swift’s global spotlight. Over the last year, the NFL star has been spotted supporting Swift backstage, travelling internationally to attend tour stops, and even making a surprise cameo during one of her London performances — a moment that instantly became a fan favorite online.

But despite the global attention surrounding both relationships, the podcast exchange ultimately highlighted something surprisingly relatable — even people dating some of the world’s biggest celebrities still joke about awkward encounters, public attention, and getting the wrong sandwich order.
