Everyone longs for an invitation, and it seems that a few Washington faces may be among them.

Page Six has learned that Vanity Fair has slashed its Oscar party guest list this year, with the Trump administration reportedly not included. Sources indicate that new editor Mark Guiducci is aiming to prioritize top-tier Hollywood talent over political figures or marginally famous attendees.

“No Trump administration officials have been invited this year,” said an insider. The decision follows a significant reduction in invitations, reportedly around fifty percent. This was allegedly done to ensure that only bona fide superstars, award-winning actors, and top executives of the film industry attend the coveted event.

Page Six noted that back in the 1990s, the Vanity Fair Oscar party was considered the most exclusive event on awards night. The bar was stocked only for leading actors, directors, and studio heads. Today, the reshaped list reinforces the focus on Hollywood luminaries, leaving political dignitaries outside the velvet rope.

The Trump administration will not be the only absentee on Donald Trump’s side during the Oscars evening; even Melania has also missed the guest list.

Melania is missing from the Oscars nominations

Melania Trump’s 2026 documentary, Melania, is not among the official nominees for the 98th Academy Awards. While the film had generated widespread discussion and media attention, the Academy has not recognized it as a contender this year.

There were a few who actually wanted the documentary to be nominated this year. That batch included Fox News's host Kayleigh McEnany, who publicly stated that the documentary deserved consideration.

Yet, there were a few who used the Oscars to mock the film. This category included Jimmy Kimmel. The host joked about how he would readily host the prestigious night once again if Melania were nominated.
