Hollywood has long admired Vietnamese cinema, usually from a respectful cinematic distance. Films like Kong: Skull Island borrowed its landscapes, while A Tourist’s Guide to Love preferred romance. Apple TV now alters the arrangement slightly, handing a Vietnamese thriller an international stage rather than merely a picturesque backdrop.

Variety reported that Skyline Media will launch the Vietnamese psychological thriller Sister Sister on Apple TV across 36 international territories beginning March 8. The release coincides with International Women’s Day. According to Skyline Media, the move marks Apple TV’s broadest distribution of a Vietnamese film in nearly a decade.

The rollout spans North America, Europe, and Oceania. The Americas include the United States, Canada, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Belize, Bermuda, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago. These markets form the first phase of Sister Sister’s Apple TV expansion.

European territories include Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The film will also stream in Australia, Fiji, and Micronesia. Australia is the only territory where Sister Sister previously appeared on Apple TV.

Skyline Media represents more than 150 Vietnamese and Southeast Asian titles and distributes content in over 50 countries through about 130 partnerships. Within that network, Sister Sister serves as a prominent international release. The strategy reflects Skyline Media’s broader effort to expand the global reach of Vietnamese cinema.

The Vietnamese psychological thriller Sister Sister presents a tightly controlled study of manipulation and power. Directed by Kathy Uyen, the film follows radio host Thien Kim, played by Thanh Hang. Her decision to shelter a runaway named Em Gai, portrayed by Chi Pu, soon evolves into a dangerous psychological contest.
