After President Donald Trump mocked George Clooney for obtaining French citizenship alongside his wife, Amal Clooney, and referenced the actor’s political commentary on former President Joe Biden, Clooney fired back with sharp wit.

"We have to make America great again. We’ll start in November," Clooney stated in a statement obtained by PEOPLE, turning Trump’s own slogan into a call for action and signaling that the midterm elections could set the country on a new course.
